Our People

PAUL JARDINE - NON-EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

Paul Jardine is a qualified actuary and has worked in the insurance industry for 38 years.

Paul spent his early years in insurance with Prudential Assurance where he qualified as an actuary. He then joined Coopers & Lybrand where he spent 9 years as partner advising clients predominantly in the Lloyd’s and London Market. Subsequently Paul left to join Equitas as Chief Actuary and later, Communications Director.

Paul spent the majority of his working life within the XL Catlin Group of Companies in senior leadership roles, as CEO of Syndicate 2003 and COO of the Catlin Group. During this time, he chaired the LMA for 3 years, was a member of the Council of Lloyd’s and was Deputy Chairman of Lloyds.

Mark Rhoder - Chief Executive Officer

After working legal private practice, Mark focussed his entrepreneurial skills on various sectors, including oil, accident management and latterly specialising in turn-arounds. Since 2001, Mark has worked in the After The Event insurance sector, firstly with The Law Society’s AccidentLine scheme and then Litigation Protection which he sold to DAS. After the sale, Mark joined DAS’ senior management team and operated at board level with overall responsibility for the ATE and Special Risks divisions.

Mark brings with him, a wealth of specialist commercial litigation experience, a deep knowledge of After The Event insurance and legal expenses insurance and very significant operational and senior management experience.

Denis Knight - general counsel

Denis has spent his entire career in law, firstly with Griffith Smith Dodd & Riley before moving on to Lawrence Graham, managing their litigation team. Denis has since underwritten for a number of leading ATE insurers.

Denis brings with him a wealth of experience of complex commercial litigation together with huge experience managing legal risks on behalf of ATE insurers and funders.

 

simon ware - chief financial officer

Simon has over 35 years experience in accounting and finance in a variety of industries and sectors including ATE insurance, private estates, premium automotive retail and a high-end hotel and restaurant.

Simon joined Global Litigation Limited as Head of Finance and Administration in July 2021 before being appointed a director and Chief Financial Officer in February 2023.

 Simon is an approved person by the Financial Conduct Authority (Reference Number SXW00726) as a director of Global Litigation Limited (CF1 (AR)).

Our Environment
